Central London’s Busiest Street – Chiller Hire Solutions
The Challenge
Installs can be complex or tricky at times, but this one was nothing less than impressive despite this (if we do say so ourselves).
We were contacted by our client for this huge London job; requiring cooling for a large scale retail store whilst full large scale chiller replacement was carried out. The temporary solution would be used to keep shoppers cool over the summer months. The challenge… a large scale central London install; with little/no disruption to shoppers or the day to day hustle and bustle of central London.
The Solution
So how did we do it? Working alongside the client we surveyed and created a detailed plan to allow for a seamless install.
- Central London rooftop installation – requiring careful delivery with HIAB / crane as well as lift and shift equipment to get everything to the rooftop.
- Working with on site teams to cause as little disruption as possible. Careful planning throughout; with close attention to detail to ensure a smooth running delivery and installation.
- Late nights into early mornings – our brilliant engineers worked through the night every day for almost two weeks to install during less disruptive hours for our client.
This was a huge install; and our team absolutely smashed it:
9x 35KW Chillers
18x 30KW fan coils
4x 50KW AHUs
12x circulation fans
and… over 1KM of hoses!
The Result
Not only was this install impressive in scale and technical planning; our team beyond impressed us. It was brilliant to watch the team strive to achieve nothing but the best under time restraints and complex planning. The dedication of our engineers working through the night for the duration of this was really something to be proud of.
The client was beyond happy with the outcome; very minimal disruption to shoppers and the busy street below, as well as a cooling solution that kept shoppers cool throughout the duration of the permanent chiller works.
